Wow I can't believe this place closed - I had been planning to come back this week :( i came in october last year and had a great meal. My bf literally wanted to come back to have it as his bday dinner. He was particularly impressed with the beef noodle soup. The tofu with century egg was also so good it inspired us to make it at home. Although idk what tofu they used in particular but it was so tasty. Yeah honestly everything was great. This is pretty sad.

3.5 Stars A Solid Casual Spot for Chinese and Taiwanese Fare. We tried many items. Recommended Dishes: Braised Pork Belly Bowl ($9.95) - Delicious and authentic. Spicy Pork Wontons ($9.95) - Tasty and delightfully spicy! Black Sesame Buns ($6.96) - Warm, fluffy buns filled with sweet black sesame--what's not to love? Golden Buns with Condensed Milk (forgot the price) - Fried fluffy buns dipped in creamy sweetness. Other Dishes: Pork Soup Dumplings ($9.99) - They were decent! This isn't primarily a soup dumpling place, so the pre-made taste is understandable. Pork & Crab Soup Dumplings ($9.95) - These had an interesting artificial crab flavor. They automatically include a 15% gratuity. The convenient ordering system on a tablet allows everyone to add their items at any time and send them through.

FOOD: 8/10 Quality: This is a very nice Chinese Noodle place! We ordered a fried rice, and lamb with scallion! The food quality was better than I expected! They are not super oily and salty, I really like the fried nice, it has a nice satay touch. The lamb is very flavorful, and it does not taste overwhelming! We all loved them! Appearance: They look great! They look appetizing and I loved the colors combination LOL Portion size: Very generous portion, my friend cannot even finish her fried rice and I have to finish it for her! And 4 of us shared 3 main dishes and we were all full. ‍ Service‍: 7/10 Friendliness: The lady that served us is very nice and friendly! She is very kind and attentive! I love her! Timeliness: Food arrived quite fast, we did not wait for too long and it came to us in nice and warm temperature. Environment: Very clean and nice, Very old-fashioned Chinese noodle spot that looks almost the same as China. This is a very small restaurant and I think it is cute to dine in here! Location: Great location! Right on the ave and they do not have a big sign so it might be a bit hard to know where they are. But it is obvious if you look closely!

Everything we ordered here was delicious. Came for dinner on a Friday night around 8pm and it was pretty busy (almost didn't get a table!). There is only one lady working but everything runs efficiently and food comes out in a timely manner. The xiaolongbao, chili wontons, noodles, eggplant, crispy pork were all good. The noodles had the perfect bounce! Everything was flavored perfectly. XLB isn't the absolute best I've had, but it still lies in the "good" category! I loved that every dish was consistently GOOD, so you know you can't go wrong with whatever you order here!

This place in U district is definitely worth a visit! Veg lovers, if you're looking for some lip smacking wontons and noodles, this one should be on your list. Meat lovers, you're also in for an absolute treat! Food: Everything ordered was a hit. There are plenty veg options making this an apt place for veg and meat lovers. We started with hot and sour soup (veg) - it was rich in flavor and over within 5 mins of arrival! We ordered veg wontons in chili sauce (my fav!), Dan Dan noodles (pork shredded on top), also really good! Veg chow mein was average. Ambience and service: This place has not invested much on looking aesthetically appealing, but is a scores 11/10 on service - the food was out within a couple mins of ordering. The place is small and hygienic. Would definitely recommend!

We were in the neighborhood for a show and found this place and knew we had to try it. We ordered so much food because we wanted to sample everything. The only dish that we ordered that was kind of meh was the shredded potato's. Very strange dish. I really enjoyed the Scallion pancake and chose to order it with the optional egg. While not necessary I can see the appeal. Probably my favorite dish of the night was the braised pork or the green beans. Overall everything had good flavor and I have to admit I didn't realize that Northern Chinese Food was different from other that I had previously. If you are in the area, check them out.

Dumplings: not a lot of soup but they were good. On the sweeter side. Liked dipping them in the chili sauce from the wontons. Braised pork: wish there was more meat BUT the meat that was there was DELICIOUS and melted in my mouth Wontons: AMAZING. I COULD EAT MY WEIGHT IN THESE. The sauce was very flavorful and not spicy at all. Definitely would go back just for these !!! Dan Dan noodles: Great portion size ! Something I could keep eating and also a perfect pair to other dishes. Luckily, we were the only ones in there so it was nice and quiet, and there is a bathroom. Overall a small store with about 6-8 tables. Order straight from the table losing your phone, but pay using a physical check / card transaction.

We came in an hour before close, ordered through qr code and got food very fast. All the food we ordered was very good, I loved the garlicky green beans and sweet and sour pork! The dumplings tasted how I thought they would, veggies were crisp, and the chili suace was just right! Very filling and you get nice portions for the price. Great place to get food to share!
